Race Equality Advisory Group (REAG)
The purpose of the Race Equality Advisory Group is to gather people with a range of lived experience with reference to racial heritage and culture to advise the Race Equality Steering Group (RESG).
The REAG will bring expertise and stories of lived experience to inform this journey towards race equality. It will enable understanding and help the Diocese (and the RE Steering Group in particular) to see through the eyes of people of UKME/GMH. The REAG will scrutinize the activity of the RESG and contribute creatively to the development of our strategy for race equality. The REAG will also critique and challenge the work of the RESG to better facilitate the culture of race equality throughout the Diocese.
The REAG is looking for additional team members from the UKME/GMH for an initial conversation please Neil Masih.
Winner announced of racial justice logo competition
Last year, the Race Equality Advisory Group (REAG) responded to the Prophet Isaiah’s vision by launching a diocesan-wide art competition.
Children and youth responded by submitting 71 entries from a spectrum of students attending primary, secondary, and sixth form schools. These entries were put to a public vote with the winners being announced at a special service at Coventry Catehdral for Racial Justice Sunday.
The service was held at Coventry Cathedral on Sunday 12th February. The banners display the three winning racial justice logos. The three logos were combined to create the final logo which is featured second in from the left of the photo above. Members of the Race Equality Advisory Group (REAG) who organised the competition and participated in the service are included in the photo at the top.Thank you for to all who assisted in organising and contributing to this event!
