Hundreds gather at Coventry Cathedral to say goodbye to Bishop Christopher

Hundreds of people from across the diocese and beyond gathered at Coventry Cathedral on the 4th November for a service of thanksgiving and farewell to Bishop Christopher.

After fifteen years as Bishop of Coventry, it was announced in June that The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth had been appointed to the Deanery of The King’s Free Chapel of St George, Windsor Castle.

The service on the 4th November marked Bishop Christopher's last day as Bishop of Coventry. It was both a joyous and emotional occasion. The service included a performance of the song 'World Changers' by children from Coventry Diocesan Board of Education schools; a rendition of 'Mary, Did You Know' by BBC’s Young Chorister of the Year, Naomi Simon, and readings from previous Bishop's interns and from Christine Camfield, the Bishop's PA.

Bishop Christopher delivered the sermon, which you can read here.

We pray for Bishop Christopher and Charlotte as they settle into Windsor and begin a new role.
