Safeguarding

The Diocese of Coventry is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of everyone within our church community.

We believe that making our churches safe for all is everyone’s responsibility.  The safeguarding team provides professional advice and training to support our parishes and the Cathedral in achieving this. We also support those who may have suffered abuse both within and outside of the church environment.

Safeguarding concerns or allegations

What to do if you have a safeguarding concern, or need to make an allegation.

Past Cases Review 2

Past Cases Review 2 (PCR2) was commissioned by the House of Bishops to see how safeguarding cases have been dealt with, thus helping churches and church-related activities to be safer for everyone.  An independent review of cases in the Diocese of Coventry was completed in December 2021.

Safeguarding Training

Safeguarding training is mandatory for all church staff and volunteers. The level of training is determined by a person's role within the church.

Safeguarding policy

The care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in Church activities is the responsibility of the whole Church. Everyone who participates in the life of the Church has a role to play in promoting a safer church for all.

Safeguarding Dashboards

Safeguarding Dashboards are making administration and governance simpler for everyone. They can be displayed on a mobile phone, tablet or computer.
