Recruitment to Diocesan Committees

The Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) would not be able to fulfil its functions without a large number of volunteer committee members and Chairs who generously give of their time and abilities to help further the diocesan mission purpose.

During 2025, Bishop's Council will be appointing members to the Grants Committee, Finance, Resources & Risk Committee, Parsonages & Glebe Committee and Diocesan Environment Group.

Grants Committee: oversees four key grant funds to support parish work - the Mission Fund, Buildings Fund, Net Zero Fund and Offa House Spirituality Capital Fund.  The committee meet online six times per year to review and approve applications for each of the parish funds, helping to ensure grant giving is aligned with our strategic aims.  We are looking for up to three lay members and up to two clergy members with experience of one or more of these key areas - missional work and projects, maintenance and management of church buildings, environmental sutainability and carbon reduction. 

Finance, Resources & Risk Committee: keeps the long-term sustainability of the DBF under review, ensuring that action is taken to maintain its financial health and to monitor finances, investments, risks and controls.  The committee meets at least four times per year.  We are looking for three to five lay members and one clergy member with experience of one of more of these key areas - financial management, investment management, risk management.  Members may not be members of Bishop's Council.

Parsonages & Glebe Committee: helps to ensure that housing provided for clergy is of a good standard and that repairs and improvements are undertaken in a cost effective and timely manner, and that the dicoesan glebe land is effectively managed for the benefit of the Diocesan Stipends Fund.  The committee meets at least four times per year.  We are looking for up to three lay members and up to two clergy members with experience of one or more of these key areas - property management, commercial property, quantity surveying, land management.

Diocesan Environment Group: works together to inspire, encourage and challenge the people, churches and structures of the diocese to live out the commitments of the diocesan Environment Policy.  For further information please contact the Diocesan Environment Officer, godfrey.armitage@coventry.anglican.org
