Mission at St Peter's Hillfields

Mission apprentice, Isaac Edwards, writes about what mission looks like at his church, St Peter's, Hillfields.

At St Peter's Hillfields in Coventry, mission is at the heart of our community outreach, and it is worked out through a range of initiatives aimed at serving the diverse needs of our neighborhood. One of the key areas of mission is our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, which provide vital support to individuals who are new to the UK or for whom English is not their first language. These classes not only help improve language skills but also create a welcoming space for people from different cultures to connect, build relationships, and feel part of the community.

Another important aspect of our mission is the Youth Hub, which serves as a safe and fun environment for young people in the area. The Youth Hub offers a variety of activities, including games, life skills development, and social activities, all designed to help young people thrive. There is also a time of prayer at the end of the Youth hub, where the young people can engage if they want to. Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to living out the love of Christ by meeting practical needs and fostering a sense of belonging in our local community.
