2024 is a year of elections. This year, we’ll be electing members to Diocesan Synod and Bishop’s Council.
Diocesan Synod is the ‘parliament’ of the Diocese, with other 100 member drawn from all 11 deaneries. It meets three times each year for a mixture of worship, prayer, presentations, debates and discussions.
Nominations for Diocesan Synod open on Mon 3 June and close at 12 noon on Mon 25 June. There’s more information about who is eligible and the nomination process in these Frequently Asked Questions.
Nomination forms will be available to download from 31 May and will also be sent directly to all qualified electors (deanery synod members).
Bishop’s Council members are elected by and from Diocesan Synod. The newly elected Synod members will take up their roles from 1 August, with nominations for Bishop’s Council elections open from 1 August to 16 September.
