We are delighted to announce that the Net Zero Quick Win Fund (NZQW) is now open for applications.
In 2023 we launched the Net Zero specific strand of the Church Improvement Fund (CIF-NZ), this was very successful and the full £155k allocated by Diocesan Synod was shared by eleven successful applicant parishes for projects including the installation of air to air heat pumps, cavity wall insulation, under pew heaters, LED lighting, solar panels and double glazing. For 2024 Diocesan Synod approved that £200k was to be assigned to the fund, with 10% ring-fenced for smaller net zero projects with a simpler application process and so the Net Zero Quick Win is here.
NZQW is aimed at funding simple, low cost changes that will reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Submissions to the fund are welcome at any time. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and so early applications are strongly encouraged as we are anticipating a high level of demand. The fund will cover projects with a total cost up to £3,000. Up to 50% of the project costs can be applied for, with a maximum grant of £1,500 available. Higher value projects can apply for funding through the main CIF-NZ grant fund.
