What does The Parsonages Committee do?

The Parsonages Committee recognises the importance of energy efficiency in parsonage houses and DBF owned properties, and as such has implemented the following strategy:

  • Quinquennial and interregnum inspections re-formatted to specifically target energy efficiency
  • Quinquennial and interregnum work schedule includes
    • increasing loft insulation up to, and where necessary in excess of government recommended levels
    • identifying potential for cavity wall insulation
    • fitting thermostatically controlled radiator valves
  • Capital Improvement budget specifically focuses on replacing single glazed windows with UPVC double glazed units.

When does The Parsonages Committee meet?

The Parsonages Committee meets 3 times a year. The meeting dates for 2023 are

Parsonages Committee Vacancies 

We are looking for new lay and clergy members to join the diocesan Parsonages Committee for a three-year term (beginning 1 July 2022).  The Committee helps to ensure that housing provided for diocesan clergy is of a good standard. Their tasks include review of the annual proposed housing budget, assessment of sustainability improvements (in line with the target of net zero carbon emissions by 2030) and monitoring of repairs and improvements. Three lay members and three clergy are required, each to be nominated by diocesan synod members. To find out more about the Committee’s work and the nomination process please see the information sheet below. Nominations must be received by Thursday 26 May. Please direct any queries to elections@coventry.anglican.org
