Safeguarding is at the heart of our Christian faith, implicit is the importance of caring for all and to keep people safe, especially our children and those who are vulnerable. It is more than a legal requirement; it is a gospel imperative.
We are committed to upholding the highest safeguarding standards and to creating a safer Church together, where all can flourish.
Our diocesan safeguarding team are an experienced professional team with backgrounds in education, police, probation and social care. The team provides advice, guidance training and support to the cathedral and parishes across the diocese. We also partner with parish safeguarding officers across the diocese to continue in our commitment to develop our safeguarding culture.
