There are usually two Bishop Study events each year: a Study Morning in January, and a Study Day in November. The content of these events varies from year to year.
All stipendiary clergy are required to attend, and need to write to the Bishop (copied to the Director of Ministry & Leadership) if they are unable to do so. Chaplains and self-supporting Licensed Clergy are encouraged to attend if their other commitments allow. Spare places are made available to Clergy with Permission To Officiate, who have requested to be on a list for reserve spaces.
Study Days and Mornings are understood to be important networking time, as well as being an opportunity for learning.
In addition to these ‘study’ events, there is also an annual Bishop’s Safeguarding Day held in late spring. The requirements of attendance for this event are the same as above.
