Service of Lamentation and Hope

Bishop John commends a Service of Lamentation and Hope (via Zoom) on Sunday 28th of June at 3pm

Organised by the Ven. Dr Amatu Christian-Iwuagwu, Vicar of St Mary's Harmondsworth and Anglican Igbo Church London and Area Director of Ordinands (ADO) - Willesden Area, it is hoped that the Service of Lamentation and Hope will enable such an environment that will offer both the Global Majority Community Clergy and the Leadership of our Church the space and opportunity in the context of a service, to listen and reflect together; seek the face of God for boldness and courage that, the Church will be seen to be leading the world by example, in deed and action over this war against injustice and oppression for the people of colour.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Revd Justin Welby has graciously accepted to give a three minute pre-recorded message. The Rt. Revd. Dr Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover, will preach and the Rt. Revd. Dr Karowei Dorgu, Bishop of Woolwich, will say the final prayer.
