Esther Peers appointed as new Dean of Women’s Ministry

The Reverend Esther Peers, Associate Minister at Holy Trinity Leamington, has been appointed as the new Dean of Women’s Ministry, a post she will hold alongside her parish role.

She will be commencing the role on the 1st August. Esther takes over from the Reverend Canon Kate Massey who held the post for the past seven and a half years.

The Dean of Women’s Ministry is a member of the Bishop’s Core Staff. Esther will play a vital part in advising the Bishop and helping the diocese to be an environment in which women in ministry flourish.

Esther says:

"It is such a privilege to be invited by Bishop Christopher to be the new Dean of Women's Ministry. I am looking forward to working with both lay and ordained colleagues, and the work of ensuring our diocese is a place where all women can flourish in their wide and varied roles in our communities and churches."

Bishop Christopher says:

"I am delighted that Esther will be taking on the mantle of this important post in our common life from Kate Massey, who like her predecessors, showed such commitment to the flourishing of female clergy and other ministers alongside their male colleagues. Esther will bring her own distinctive experience and energy to the role with, like those she is following, a combination of care for individual needs and an eye on wider questions of structure, system and culture that require ongoing attention in the life of the Diocese and the Church of England as a whole."
