The Bishop of Coventry has invited the Reverend Gail Phillip to join Barry Dugmore on a part-time placement as an Associate Archdeacon.
Gail is currently the Vicar of St Giles, Exhall and will now be joining the Archdeacons’ Team for two days a week for an initial period of six months. The start date for the placement has not been finalised yet but will be sometime after Easter by which time Tim Cockell will have returned to full-time parish ministry after a very successful placement.
Gail has been Vicar of Exhall since June 2019 and this will continue throughout her part-time placement.
Gail grew up in Nuneaton. She had a career in education both in the UK and whilst serving as a CMS Mission Partner with the Anglican Church in Thailand. On returning to the UK, Gail was part of a therapeutic team working with looked after children. She trained for ordination at St John’s College, Nottingham. Gail served her Curacy in Coventry Diocese, before becoming Vicar at St Giles as well as Assistant Area Dean in the Nuneaton Deanery. She has also been the Living in Love and Faith Advocate for Coventry Diocese for the past two years. Gail loves big family get togethers and having her parents and brother’s family very close to hand.
