Thought for the day from Simon Danks

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1.

As a regular volunteer in our Sunday School I have been involved in recording talks for inclusion in our Worship At Home activities which are intended for families to engage together on the themes that the church has been exploring whilst we’ve not been free to meet together. I was struggling with last week’s talk, not able to make a coherent message from the subject title, the reading and other resources. One friend gave some insight to the scripture and another friend suggested that this was a week for Claude (my crazy puppet) to be involved. Whilst the learning point became a little less blurry, the flow of the talk still eluded me. So I got Claude out, stuck him on my arm and just started talking to the video camera. Five takes later and it was “in the can”. As I reflected later in the day it struck me that here was a very simplistic example of knowing the direction that God is leading me, I often need to take a step of faith in order for him to come in and empower me to flourish.
