Thought for the day from Linda Wainscot

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

In attempting to do all that I can during this difficult season, to help and support those I love, care about and serve, I wonder if, like me, others sometimes feel that there is so much more we want to do ….  If only I could do this, if only I could go there, if only, if only ….

I am reminded of the farmer with two pots, as in the picture, with one pot new and shiny and the other, cracked and leaky.  The cracked pot became ashamed of its failure to ‘do the job’ and begged the farmer to replace it.  In reply, the farmer invited that pot to observe the beautiful flowers along the path to the stream.  Seeds had purposely been planted because the farmer knew that they would be watered every day – all because of the cracked pot.

We can only do what we can do in God’s strength.  We might not be perfect but God equips us for the task to which he calls us.  I am reassured that it is OK to be a ‘cracked pot’ for Jesus!
